Chaos. Homeschooling three kids feels like chaos. Yes, there’s education – the normal, book learning type of education going on, but also another type of education. I had to laugh at my older two (DD 8 ad DS 10) trying their hardest to be patient with the very exuberant two year old this morning. They started taking turns having the little one be their chore helper. DS 10 was trying to have DS 2 help collect the laundry. The little guy was just not cooperating. It was much more fun to throw laundry all over the room, including back in to the original hamper, rather than put it into the basket as he was instructed to do. DS 10 is learning a lot about how to be patient and not lose your cool. What better teacher than an insane 2 year old?
I think about how much our kids would miss out on if they were gone at school all day. The older two certainly wouldn’t be as close to the little guy as they are. They all adore each other! When they’re not fighting… But they do adore each other. The 2 year old won’t go to bed unless his older brother tucks him in. I wouldn’t trade that for all the peace and quiet in the world. I’ll take the chaos.
